I visited the Steves Tiles shop just down the road from Steves Paints. Owned by the same people. Went to choose the tiles for my new home. They have a huge natural tile selection. I got great discount and ended up saving about £300. Friendly staff as well.
I placed a order with Steves paints at workington to which they told me that they would reorder it. 3 weeks later i receive a phonecall to say the wallpaper is discontinued. the staff were very unhelpful. will not go there again.
i have to say i have been in both stores today of this family business and purchased tiles and paints, and i would not hesitate to use these stores again in the future. after going to B and Q for so long, a friend of mine recommended them to me and i was not disappointed by the prices and the warm and friendly atmosphere.
I visited the store today Wednesday 6th November. All staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and is always a pleasure to shop there! I don't know where Jacqueline B gets her opinions from? she must have been in another shop!
Visited the store at 5.15pm, the doors were open as was the store. I only wanted some paint brushes and was quick in the store. while i was there i witnessed the staff being extremely rude to customers and being very unhelpful. staff were shouting to each other what time it was and how they were closing in 2 minutes. i also witnessed an old lady being left to lift heavy buckets of paint by herself. The staff member helping her was pregnant and instead of one of the other staff members (who was standing doing nothing) helping, she shouted down the store "shes not getting her to lift that paint is she!). No was the answer, the lady struggled while staff watched. I helped the lady out with her trolly and helped put the paint into her car. There was still a some left in the trolly when a staff member grabbed the trolly to take back. I will never visit that store again
