P M Vithlani Chemists
I have a long standing repeat prescription, a huge long list at that, and thanks to Mr Vithlani and his excellent staff at the Heath Road branch I am never let down. Although I have not visited all the branches I gather from friends that the same excellent service runs through the whole range of branches.
Completely honest and totally trustworthy – Mr Vithlani, Jit, Justine, Leighton and all the other staff (who I hope will forgive me for not naming them all!) are always helpful and always happy to assist.
They offer consultations in a private little side room, offering excellent pharmaceutical knowledge and advice on any prescription or over-the-counter medication, they also offer smoking cessation advice, minor ailment advice and treatments where appropriate. They are all particularly good at picking up any problems with my prescription, complex as it is, that might need to be brought to the doctors attention. No matter how small or seemingly trivial, nothing slips past this excellent team.
It is a very long-established pharmacy which has gained, and retained, an excellent reputation for longer than I can remember - I am in my 40's and I can't remember a time when it was not there.
This is a pharmacy that deserves to thrive, as indeed it appears to be doing. This is a rare thing in modern times: an ethical, professional and trustworthy shop with an old-fashioned style of doing business. You can't help but build up friendships with this team the more often you return. No matter who I talk to, in person or on the phone, they always make me smile. When I visit the shop, no matter how poorly I feel, I always seem to leave with slightly more of a spring in my step!
The service might be good, traditional and very friendly but all the modern equipment and technology is quietly in the background making it tick along nicely.
However, one aspect I find particularly important is that Mr Vithlani and Jit, the other pharmacist, are very friendly and so approachable should you have any questions about your health or medication that the rest of the staff are not trained to answer. I am quite a timid and rather shy person and worry about approaching busy staff in other shops to ask questions but they really do make it easy to ask for help here.
...and no, I don't work there and I'm not related - they really are this good! ;-)
