The Hove Club
Firstly during the organising the manageress took days to respond to emails even after phone calls she would respond the following day, when we made arrangments for meetings the manageress found it suitable to wear ann summers style clothes when your in your early 50s and look every day of it I think its time to cover up. Upon arrival to set up and decorate the room (you have to do this yourself) the tables were not possitioned well we had less guests than our friends aswell as no stage for our band yet no space between the tables and as for the chairs well they looked as if they had just been thrown into the room, I was worried but my to be husband insisted the club must work in the evening to set up the room.
The big day, blissful sunshine perfect service and then the hove club, well first impression was jumble sale the tables were a mess the settings looked once again as if they had been thrown onto the tables, the glass wear was filthy with lipstick on my husbands glass and the centre piecies were off centre as they had been moved by their front of house manageress. Food was great and can only fault the temprature could have been hotter but this was due to the service staff whom cleary had no clue what was going on they were running in and out with wrong amount of plates food and forgeting to serve gravy on many tables it seemed like school children on work experience as they had none of the finess class and quality we had seen at the earlier wedding. The front of house Manageress was great very helpfull although very scruffy (looked as if she worked at weatherspoons) and very common not polite like the young man in charge of service at our friends wedding, the staff were so rushed they never spoke to guesstes as they served they didnt look trained in silver service althogh we we paid for silver service we have had better service in wetherspoons, and were all scruffy with a miss match of outfits/ uniforms.
The bar this is classic a bar that runs out of larger need we say more the lager served both on tap and bottled were warm and over priced not to mention servered by two missirable ladys once again very sturn faced. Over all very dissapointed and has gone so far down hill in just a year was unbeliveable and to pour salt in the wound the staff including managment were all drunk by the end of the day when the manageress asks if everything was ok whiles drunk before you respond she tells you how great it was beggers belife hounesty worst place to wed find another venue unless the go back to the standard of service they had a couple of years ago. Mother inlaw paid the bill as we were going to refuse its that bad...
