Newington Post Office

Rude and unfriendly staff. Poor customer service. Tried to send a parcel. The top of the parcel had become a bit unstuck so I asked the lady if she would stick a bit of sellotape over it. Really not that much to ask, there was even some duck tape near her desk she could've used. She told me that they don't tape any parcels for you and I'd had to do it myself before sending it, so I had to go and buy some sellotape from the stationary shop and get to the back of the queue. Won't be going there again if they can't do even the smallest of favours for their customers.

Scottish Health Advisory Service

Scottish Health Advisory Service is just another deceitful agency in Scottish Healthcare system that fails patients with their trickery agenda whereby the use semantics, ambiguity and facts distorted out of context to enable them to project their distorted opinion that is the preferred outcome of the corrupt bureaucrats that give them their authority and money to function in the first case. They cannot even list a functional phone number on the internet and even it is difficult to find.

From my sister Mrs Dorothy Milloy, 19 Saughton Mains Terrace.
Moved in December (I think)
Just what she wanted
Very peaceful.
Wonderfully adapted to meet all her needs.
Plenty space, adequate sitting room space, nice when friends call round.
Feels very secure
Neighbours friendly
Shower adaptation has been installed
All work was carried out quickly and left spotless.
She does not use a p.c.

Aaron Lettings

They seem to have a scam of telling you that various items in the house you are letting have broken and need to be replaced (such as a washing machine). They then replace it on your behalf with inferior rubbish which then promptly fails again. They then tell you that another replacement is needed. Also, there was a weird thing - they apparently let themselves into my house and used it, leaving evidence of that lying around. Needless to say this seriously alarmed my tenant. When I got wise to their shenanigans they abruptly terminated the agreement. A bunch of untrustworthy shysters would say. Steer well clear of them

Abbeyhill Methodist Church

This church means a lot to me. My grandmother, Agnes Chisholm and my mother Barbara Jolly attended this church for many years and I was told it had been knocked down. I am so glad to see it is still there. My mother is now 91 and I didn't want her to think the church was no longer there.
Would it be possible to have a photo of it please. I've only been in it once and that was 40 years ago! Grandma's ashes were scattered on the green. I hope to come over one year to visit it again but until then a photo would be wonderful. Thank you in advance. Barbara Watt. France.

Southside Surgery

This is a very well established group of very good GMPs working hard to look after a wide range of patients of all ages and with from various backgrounds as in overseas students to local pensioners and many different ethnic groups who have settled and live in Edinburgh Southside area.

They are now more accessible with the extended work hours from 8 in the morning to 6.30 at night and this really helps people like me who live locally but leave Edinburgh before 8 in the morning to commute to work elsewhere as I can get an evening appointment or an early morning appointment.

I think the website is not very good and also variations of the site link into so many private laser surgery and other things, makes it very confusing to actually find the exact and precise details about your excellent practice. get rid of a lot of the rubbish contacts.


I was looking for info about flu jabs for winter 2012 and have not found them yet, despite heavy advertising for NHS to ensure they get it. So I need it asap!!!



ps trying to send this is was difficult with the security code palaver as my net book did not show the other block for the 3 symbols to be typed in.

Salvesen Boys Club

I am a close friend of Club Chairman, Athole MacDonald, and I have seen the team play on several occasions even though I live in Ankara and visit Edinburgh only 1 or 2 times a year.

As an ex-Class 1 referee, I even refereed one of the boys team's a few years ago !

However, I would like to pay tribute to the Chairman and all the coaching staff who give up their time to coach the boys and look after the admin arrangements week in and week out.

Well done to you all and long may Salvie prosper !
