Somerford Arms

Fantastic pub. Cosy, laid back and just right. Just how a village pub should be. Have eaten here twice - on a Saturday night and on a Tuesday lunchtime. Food has been lush and everybody enjoyed their meal. Waiting staff very attentive. Nutmeg the dog wanders around and is friendly and that just adds to the cosy/homely feeling. So what if there is little parking - park safely nearby and walk!

why is it that when you try and book a table at chippenham you ring up at 4pm get a message saying unable to take your call please leave a message you leave a message and phone no to book a table for 6 30 and two hours later you havenot received a callback tried again and still get a message this is not the first time this has happened to us hence we got fish and chips how many other people has this happened to

Somerford Arms

Minety rugby club spent a very fun evening at The Somerford Arms, for our annual Ladies' Night last Friday.
The atmosphere was great, thanks in no small part to landlady Emma's warm welcome and personal touch.

Since re-opening, we have thoroughly enjoyed the friendly welcome and a deserved beer or two when returning from away games, and shall continue to do so.

Somerford Arms

I have visited the Somerford Arms a few times since it re-opened and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is buzzing and the food has always been good. The young boxer, Nutmeg, mooches around but is never a nuisance even though she is still a puppy and is just another addition to the chilled and relaxed vibe.

I did not feel that the parking was an issue, there is very limited space in the pub car park but plenty of room to park at the side of the road and this is not a problem as it is not a busy main road.

We will definitely be returning.

Somerford Arms

Sorry to be a 'party-pooper' but my wife and I were at The Somerford Arms yesterday evening as part of a Ladies Night from Minety RFC. There were around forty of us there and maybe the restaurant just couldn't cope with that number. We had all pre-chosen from a limited set menu but sat down forty-five minutes late. When we arrived, there were just two people behind the bar who appeared never to have worked a busy bar before and certainly were NOT 'welcoming'. When another lady joined them behind the bar, the first thing she did was help herself to a drink which she half-consumed before turning her attention to the waiting customers.

When the food eventually turned up, it was not only uncooked but cold. I do not like raw beef! There was no butter with the cheeseboard and no coffee on offer.

We were all squeezed onto a long 'trestle' table which limited interaction to about six of your immediate neighbours.

The dog which has been mentioned in other reviews, was regularly picked up and cuddled by the 'waiting' staff and was also in an out of the kitchen all the time. Not sure the Environmental Health people would like this very much.

Even though we regularly pass The Somerford Arms on our way to The New Inn in Seagry, we shall continue to do so. Sorry

Somerford Arms

What a fantastic place, open log burner, candle lit pub ensures a relaxing atmostphere. The food was amazing and a wonderful welcome from Emma and Nutmeg the boxer pup made a truly enjoyable evening. We will certainly be back. Parking was not really an issue as there is plenty of space down the road in the village..

Somerford Arms

Fabulous little pub! Excellent food, very welcoming and professional landlords, and lovely ambiance. We will be transferring our patronage from another "local" to this one without a doubt!
Only issue is the limited parking. I do hope the residents in the street remain tolerant of cars parked outside their property!

Somerford Arms

A lovely warm welcome and a great atmosphere. Food was very good and all freshly made, service was fantastic with just the right time between courses. Will definitely be going to The Somerford Arms many more times!
