Throughout my ten years car owning experience, this is probably the worst garage I have been too. From the outside it looks pretty respectable, but once you leave your vehicle with them they seem to think it gives them open license to rip you off.

I left my Saab for an MOT at 11:30am and was told it would be ready in an hour. I came back in an hour and they said that there were minor bulb issues that needed fixing and that the car would be ready by 3pm.

Upon returning at 3:30pm the car was still not ready because their very qualified mechanics could not fix a number plate bulb! They said that they might need to keep the car overnight.

Of course when actually I arrived back at the garage there wasn't actually anyone working on it. To my intense frustration I found them in the office drinking tea and watching the cricket.

To add insult to injury, they went on to charge me £23 labour + £7 parts for replacing a rear brake light!!! And if that wasn't enough, they charged me £11.57 for swapping one of the tyres around!!! And of course they also charged me £54 for the MOT inspection. Total bill: £104 for not very much work at all.

What upset me the most was the stinking attitude you would expect from the worst cowboy garages. When I protested at being grossly over charged for the bulb replacement and tyre swap they simply gave me blank stares. Not a word of empathy, not even an attempt to justify their charges. It was a case of put up or shut up.

I would have been much better served had I gone to a Saab specialist. If you live in the Moseley area and want a local garage, just go to Halfords Service Centre on the high street. They repaired an air conditioning piping issue for me about a year ago and they were very competent and reasonably priced. At the very least you know you won't be ripped off by a complete cowboy of a business masquerading as an honest garage.
