Only HARDCORE Travelers Should Visit These 7 Locations.
Whether you’re looking for a new thrill, or just trying to see how crazy you can be, these seven locations are only suitable for the most hardcore travelers. They may be dangerous or they just require some great skill to reach. Either way, check the list out and see if you have what it takes!
1. Kīlauea volcano kayaking – Hawaii
This 600,000 year old volcano has been erupting steadily since 1983. This makes it one of the longest eruptions in history, and it has produced over 75 square miles of land during this time. For those who are looking for a thrill, visitors are permitted to kayak near the recently formed land and the dripping 2,000 degree lava. Sure, that sounds fun.
2. Learning the Way of the Ninja – Japan
We all talk about being a ninja (at least I do) but actually training to become one? Surely I must be insane, but I’m not! Tokyo still houses some sensei who are willing to train people in this ancient art. One such sensei apparently took on 13 Yakuza members at once. Clearly these guys aren’t messing around.
3. Visiting the Dani Tribe – Papua
The only thing more adventurous than trying to live with an ancient tribe, is being invited to live with them. The Dani tribe who live in the Balim Valley only allow a few people to enter their land and explore with them each year. I don’t want to know what happens to people who think they can just waltz in.
4. Volcano Surfing – Leon, Nicaragua
The town of Leon is nestled in the shadow of the Cerro Negro volcano and it is also the birthplace of an insane sport: volcano surfing. Yep, you can hike to the top of this mountain and slide back down reaching speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
5. Journey Between Continents – Iceland
Þingvallavatn Lake is special because it is where the tectonic plates of North America and Europe meet. Divers can swim down between these two plates which move at a snail’s pace of 2 centimeters per year.
6. Journey Inside a Volcano – Iceland
Where once this chamber was filled with magma, the volcano has gone quiet. Visitors can explore this massive chamber over 400 feet below the ground inside the Þríhnúkagigur volcano. Of course, they only allow visitors one month each year.
7. Icebreaker North Pole Cruise – Arctic Ocean
The only thing that can cut through the ice of the Arctic is a nuclear powered ship called an icebreaker. These beasts journey to the approximate north pole of the Earth every so often, caring a select few who are hardcore enough to withstand the conditions of such a place.
Well, there you have it folks, places that only the most hardcore of travels can brave. Are you advanced (or crazy) enough to visit these places? Share this list with your friends and tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
