With the change of the seasons, comes a change in our sports seasons! If you love winter sports, skiing, and snowboarding then check out these top ten of the best North American ski destinations! You may find the perfect place to plan your next skiing adventure!

1. Telluride

Telluride is located in San Miguel County of Colorado, United States. In addition to skiing and winter sports, this location also offers the Telluride Historic District, which is one of Colorado’s twenty National Historic Landmarks.



2. Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole is located in between the Gros Ventre Range and the Teton Mountain Range in the state of Wyoming. The highest elevation sits at about ten thousand four hundred and fifty feet.



3. Snowbird


Snowbird is located in Little Cottonwood Canyon of the Rocky Mountains near Salt Lake City, Utah. This location is one of the most well-known skiing and snowboarding resorts in the United States.


4. Whistler

Whistler is located in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. This skiing haven can be found about eighteen miles north of Vancouver, Canada.



5. Vail


Vail is located in Eagle County, Colorado, and it is the largest ski mountain in the state of Colorado. The Vail Ski Resort was established in 1962.


6. Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is located in the state of Utah and it was the location of the Winter Olympics in the year 2002. Enjoy winter sports, skiing, snowboarding, local restaurants, and shopping.



7. Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is located in the Sierra Nevada, bordered by the state of California and Nevada. The actual body of water, Lake Tahoe, is the largest alpine lake in North America.



8. Aspen

Aspen is located in Pitkin County of Colorado, and in a part of the Rocky Mountains Sawatch Range and Elk Mountain. This area was named “Aspen” due to all of the aspen trees found in this area.

Banff is a town with the Banff National Park, located in Alberta, Canada. This location is a part of the Alberta’s Rockies and offers skiing, winter sports, hiking, and hot springs.



10. The Finger Lakes

The Finger Lakes are actually a collection of lakes throughout the State of New York. There is a total of eleven Finger Lakes.
